About Us

Homemade Buffet Company was founded in 2010 by mother and son, Lorna and Jonathan Nichols. Before starting the business, they’d both spent years working in housing and banking, and between them they’d been to more office buffets than they could count. Most were forgettable. Some were downright stingy.

So when the chance came to do something different, they took it.

Made fresh, made with care

Everything is prepared fresh from our home premises in Hinckley, right up to the day of your event. The only thing we don’t make ourselves is the bread, which we buy in from a trusted supplier. It’s a small detail, but it matters to us. It’s part of what makes a homemade buffet feel different from something that’s been mass produced and shipped out from a warehouse.

We hold a Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, and our kitchen has been inspected by the local authority and rated 5 out of 5. So you can relax and enjoy your event, knowing the food’s in good hands.

Simple menus, personal service

Our menus are kept simple on purpose, but that doesn’t mean we skimp on flavour or portion size. Whether you’re planning a private party, a corporate lunch or a wedding, we’ll sit down with you and get the details right. And if something on the menu doesn’t quite suit what you had in mind, just ask. We’re always happy to change things around.
